Online Worship: Second Sunday of Easter

In today’s gospel the risen Christ appears to the disciples, but his resurrected body continues to have wounds (and Thomas wants to make sure). What’s up with that? Shouldn’t the resurrection mean everything is fixed and perfect? Jesus’ wounds are a testament to his love, his obedience, and his fight against evil. In the same way, our bodies tell our stories. And even the most wounded, broken and scarred people know and are beloved by God.

This worship service includes Communion as an extension of the table at St. Peter’s on Sunday, April 16, 2023. You may want to have bread/cracker and wine/juice ready before you watch. The Bible readings for this worship service are Acts 2:14a, 22-23; Psalm 16; 1 Peter 1:3-9; and John 20:19-31.
