At St. Peter’s, Christian Education is taken very seriously. It is important for children, youth, and adults alike to study God’s Word and learn about the love of Jesus Christ.
Adult Education:
Adult learning happens every week. Tuesday mornings we gather at church for a delicious breakfast and Bible study at 8:00 am. Wednesday mornings, a Bible study is offered as part of the Seniors group. Short-term studies and retreats are also offered and open to all.
The Community Christian Seniors ministry, a gathering of seniors and retirees, meets every Wednesday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. It includes fellowship, Bible study, educational programs, and lunch. All seniors from the community who are interested in exploring things from a Christian perspective are invited.
Children and Youth Education:
St. Peter’s offers Food, Faith and Fun on Fridays for all age kids during the school year on the second Friday of each month from 5:30-7:30 pm. Dinner is included and we have fun exploring Bible stories from a concrete point of view. Perfect for little ones who can’t stay still! Confirmation, a course of Bible and catechism study, is also offered for grades 7 and 8. For more information on any of these programs, please contact the church office at 363-5211.
Community Nursery School:
St. Peter’s sponsors a Christian nursery school for children in the area who are 3 and 4 years old. Classes are on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:15 am to 11:45 am. For more information, please contact Linda Hartman, director, through the church office at 363-5211.
Confirmation Camp:
As part of our Confirmation program, the youth spend one week at Confirmation Camp, which takes place at Lake Chautauqua Lutheran Center in western NY.
Vacation Bible School:
During the summer, St. Peter’s offers Vacation Bible School (VBS) for children ages 3-grade 6 in the community, usually in the middle of August. All kids are welcome and the program is free. For details, please contact the church office.
St. Peter’s also participates in the Verona Area Council of Churches VBS program, which is held in July. Both programs are centered on the Bible and on helping kids learn how to follow Jesus.
