Hosanna! Save us! Today begins with Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, a parade for a king who rules by love, not by force. The crowd’s exuberant cries fade partway through the worship service as we look ahead to what is to come: his unjust trial and death sentence. Jesus will face the worst of our humanity, but he does it with God’s great redeeming love.
This worship service includes Communion as an extension of the table at St. Peter’s on Sunday, April 13, 2025. You may want to have bread/cracker and wine/juice ready before you watch, as well as a branch of some kind for the palm procession. The Bible readings for this worship service are Luke 19:28b-40; Isaiah 50:4-9a; Psalm 31:9-16; Philippians 2:5-11; Luke 22:14-22; and Luke 22:23-23:56.
