This week we are presented with that age old struggle between our humanity and the ability to follow through. Our wants and needs do not always correlate with Gods wants and needs for us and for our service. How then do we respond? With faith like obedience or with childlike tantrums? Or are we somewhere in between? Taking up the cross and following Jesus is not guaranteed to be an easy mission, just the right mission. We have been learning a lot about how we see God, How we interact with God, The spaces and places that we find God, and now we learn what it costs to follow. It is more than words, it is giving up our all in the face of adversity for the sake of the gospel. Not forcing our wants above that which God needs to be done.
