When politics gets involved, questions rapidly turn into weapons. We see this all the time as we near Election Day, but it was true in the Bible too. Jesus takes the Sadducees’ somewhat ridiculous question and turns it into good news about what happens in the resurrection: no one is ever separated from God, even in death. As we celebrate All Saints, we take comfort in knowing our own saints are held safely in God’s keeping.
This worship service includes Communion as an extension of the table at St. Peter’s on Sunday, November 6, 2022. You may want to have bread/cracker and wine/juice ready before you watch. You may also wish to have a candle ready to safely light to remember your own saints. The Bible readings for this worship service are: Job 19:23-27a; Psalm 17:1-9; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-5, 13-17; and Luke 20:27-38.
