Online Worship: Christ the King and Third Sunday of Advent

We often define justice as people getting what they deserve, but as king, Jesus shows us a kind of justice that is more interested in what is necessary and loving than in what is fair. Jesus’ justice is ridiculously unbalanced: the Human One takes all of the hits, and humanity gets all of the benefits. This kind of justice brings great liberation; it also calls us to lives of even greater responsibility.

This worship service includes Communion as an extension of the table at St. Peter’s on Sunday, November 24, 2024. It also includes the baptisms of Jack and Tony Congdon. You may want to have bread/cracker and wine/juice ready before you watch. The Bible readings for this worship service are Daniel 7:9-10, 13-14; Psalm 93; Revelation 1:4b-8; and John 18:33-37.
