Online Worship: Fourth Sunday after Epiphany

Cause and effect helps us understand a lot about the world, but even cause and effect breaks down sometimes. Bad things happen to good people and vice versa. But bad things are not a sign of God’s punishment, or even the lack of God’s presence. In this introduction to the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus makes it clear that those experiencing hardship are actually blessed by God, not forgotten by God.

This worship service includes Communion as an extension of the table at St. Peter’s on Sunday, January 29, 2023. You may want to have bread/cracker and wine/juice ready before you watch. The Bible readings for this worship service are Micah 6:1-8; Psalm 15; 1 Corinthians 1:18-31; and Matthew 5:1-12.
