Online Worship: Fourth Sunday after Pentecost

“Feeling seen” is the theme of our Scripture readings today. God does not promise that the path of the disciple will be easy. Hagar cries out in desperation after being manipulated and rejected. Jesus declares that his words may bring stark division. Even so, we need not be afraid, for God sees and values every living being. Though we may experience rejection, frustration, division, and death, God’s grace and love make us a new creation each day.

This worship service includes Communion as an extension of the table at St. Peter’s on Sunday, June 25, 2023. You may want to have bread/cracker and wine/juice ready before you watch. The Bible readings for this worship service are Genesis 21:8-21; Psalm 86:1-10, 16-17; Romans 6:1b-11; and Matthew 10:24-39.
