When are the free not really free? In today’s reading from Acts, the free are enslaved and the enslaved are made free in a topsy-turvy story about an exploited young woman, a city suspicious of newcomers, and a jailer conflicted about his role in a corrupt system. Paul and Silas come preaching the kingdom of God and completely upset the apple cart. As it turns out, this is actually good news.

This worship service includes Communion as an extension of the table at St. Peter’s on Sunday, June 1, 2025. We will also welcome three young people to the Communion table for the first time. You may want to have bread/cracker and wine/juice ready before you watch. The Bible readings for this worship service are Acts 16:16-34; Psalm 97; Revelation 22:12-14, 16-17, 20-21; and John 17:20-26.
