Online Worship: Christmas Eve—A Tale of Bodies

We’ve all been thinking about bodies entirely too much during the COVID-19 pandemic. But guess what? Bodies are the star of the Christmas story. Bodies giving birth, filled with anxiety and fear, in need of warmth and shelter, bodies with smells and pains and fragility and tenderness. In Jesus, God chose to enter our existence in a body. And nothing was ever the same again.

This worship service includes Communion as an extension of the table at St. Peter’s on Thursday, December 24, 2020. The Bible readings for this worship service are Isaiah 9:2-7 and Luke 2:1-20.

Before you begin this worship service, you are invited to find a candle for each person watching and bread and wine or juice for participating in Communion.
