Online Worship: Land Sunday—Season of Creation

We think of land as something on which we walk about, but it is so much more than just the stage for our own actions. Because God made the first human out of the dust of the ground, the earth is like our relative, our surrogate parent, and we are always connected to it. Today we hear that the ground even “cries out” when it witnesses human injustice or violence. God calls us to care for the land and share its blessings with others.

This worship service includes Communion as an extension of the table at St. Peter’s on Sunday, September 10, 2023. You may want to have bread/cracker and wine/juice ready before you watch. The Bible readings for this worship service are Genesis 3:14-19 and 4:8-16; Psalm 139:7-16; 2 Corinthians 4:1-10; and Matthew 12:38-40.
