Online Worship: Second Sunday in Lent—Faith Matters

Is faith something you have? Or something you live? Are we willing to live out our faith fully, no matter the cost? In our first reading, God asks Abraham to go out on a limb and trust that he and Sarah will have a child. In our gospel, Jesus teaches Peter, the disciples, and everyone who wants to follow him that the way to new life is through the cross, heading into and through the suffering and pain of the world, not around it. It’s not easy, but it is true life.

The Bible readings for this worship service are: Genesis 17:1-7, 15-26; Psalm 22:23-31; Romans 4:13-25; and Mark 8:27-38.
