Online Worship: Second Sunday of Advent

Comfort, O comfort my people, sings Isaiah to the Jewish people in exile in Babylon, wondering if they will ever see home again. Prepare the way of the Lord, cries John the Baptist in the wilderness, promising a fresh start for those who are tired of the status quo. Their voices, separated by centuries, join together in harmony to remind us that God has not forgotten us nor our world. Christ is coming into the wilderness to make all things new.

This worship service includes Communion as an extension of the table at St. Peter’s on Sunday, December 3, 2023. You may want to have bread/cracker and wine/juice ready before you watch. The Bible readings for this worship service are Isaiah 40:1-11; Psalm 85:1-2 and 8-13; 2 Peter 3:8-15a; and Mark 1:1-8.
