“Thank you for being a friend…” The Golden Girls had it right: friendship is everything. Jesus takes his disciples to another level by calling them not just students or servants, but friends. Friendship captures the love, the joy, and the deep mutuality of the relationship Jesus invites us to experience. And true friendship, true love, bears fruit in us that goes out to feed others.
This worship service includes Communion as an extension of the table at St. Peter’s on Sunday, May 5, 2024. You may want to have bread/cracker and wine/juice ready before you watch. Today we also we welcome six young people to the Communion table for the first time and celebrate with them and their families as they share this meal. The Bible readings for this worship service are Acts10:44-48; Psalm 98; 1 John 5:1-6; and John 15:9-17.
