Online Worship: The Day of Pentecost—From Groans to Grace

On Pentecost we celebrate the pouring out of the Holy Spirit, who takes our groans (including our sighs, cries, prayers, and swears) and transforms them into signs of grace. It takes time, not unlike the birth of anything new. It takes patience and hope to see what is unfolding. But the Spirit can transform our pain into something that has meaning and brings healing.

This worship service includes a thanksgiving for baptism and Communion as an extension of the table at St. Peter’s on Sunday, May 23, 2021. You may want to have a bowl of water and bread/cracker and wine/juice ready before you watch. The Bible readings for this worship service are: Acts 2:1-21; Romans 8:22-27; and John 15:26-27 and 16:4b-15.
