Online Worship: Transfiguration of Our Lord

“The Truth must dazzle gradually, / Or every man be blind.” We like to think we can handle the truth, but these words from Emily Dickinson set us straight. In today’s gospel, Jesus is revealed as God’s beloved Son, echoing the words at his baptism. This truth is revealed in dazzling glory and the loud, powerful voice of God—but also through the power of simple human touch as Jesus reassures his disciples. God is with us in all ways—humble and exalted—through Jesus Christ.

This worship service includes Communion as an extension of the table at St. Peter’s on Sunday, February 19, 2023. You may want to have bread/cracker and wine/juice ready before you watch. The Bible readings for this worship service are Exodus 24:12-18; Psalm 99; 2 Peter 1:16-21; and Matthew 17:1-9.
